Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of creativity at the Creative Practice event! Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone looking to explore their creative side.

At this event, we'll have a different theme each month to inspire your creativity. You can bring your own project to work on or participate in the theme of the month. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow artists, share ideas, and get feedback on your work.

Whether you're into painting, drawing, sculpture, or any other form of art, this event welcomes all types of creative practices. Don't worry if you're a beginner - everyone is welcome, and we encourage learning and growth together.

Kokedama workshop - afternoon session

Saturday 24th of February we will be hosting a fun workshop for you to get your hands dirty & create a special take home kokedama. Bring a friend, a cuppa from the cafe next door and be prepared to learn the tricks of making beautiful kokedama.

In our workshop you will make 2 “moss balls” one large and one small, learning how to wrap the plants root system and bind them with string transforming them into sculptural art forms to take home.

We have a range of plants to choose from to build your kokedama around, that are easy care & suitable for indoors and outdoors. This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn and create lovingly handmade gifts for your loved ones or simply to enjoy it yourself.

Workshop runs from 1pm for approximately 1.5 hours

All plants and materials will be provided.

Cost is $85 per person

 Beginners Bonsai Workshop

Come join us here at Vitality Bloom Nursery and learn how to cut, trim, repot and wire your bonsai with Andrew, our bonsai specialist, who will turn you into a bonsai master in no time at all!! The class itself cost $175 for the beginner course all training and materials are supplied including the pot, quality secateurs and bonsai plant, which you will get to take home.

The next Beginners Bonsai Workshop will be held on March 23rd.

Join us for a fantastic Introduction workshop of all things Gifted Threads! This in-person event will be held at Vitality Bloom Nursery, Lindsays Road, Boambee NSW, Australia. Get ready for exploring hand-sewing using traditional Japanese stitches like Boro and Indian Kantha, as well as your very own stitches. We will be working on up-cycled fabrics like denim, linen and cotton.

Threads we will be using are: Sashiko, Embroidery, Button Craft, Top stitch and Perl Cotton.

You are welcome to bring your own fabric(woven), and use some of your favourite materials that you already have at home (for example: a small piece of your favourite old tea towel, a piece from a garment you made, a handkerchief, fabric that you really like and is meaningful to you).

We will be using the size of approximately A5 as the base. No embroidery loop needed. All materials, threads and needles will be provided, including a Sashiko needle and some Linen and Liberty Fabric for you to take home.

This workshop is also an introduction to creating Stitch-Book Pages, in which you can explore your stitches and ideas. It is suited for beginners, as well as experienced sewers. The "pages" can be used further in a project or art piece.

Diving deeper into the connection between our fabrics and us, we will explore a writing inquiry and a short meditaion. Looking into what is calling us, what story is our fabric telling, how is fabric woven into our souls.

MINDFUL CROCHETING

Join us for a relaxing morning at the nursery, crocheting a beuatiful waffle cloth.

With a short meditation, followed by a warm up, we will dive into the art of crocheting.

All materials supplied. We will be using 100% cotton 8ply and a crochet hook.

The waffle pattern is easy to learn and consists of two stiches, basic chain stitch and trebble crochet.

Renate will guide you step by step to stitch your waffle cloth, and you will get the wool and written instructions to take home, to create another cloth.

A cuppa is included.

This workshop is beginner friendly. (under 9 years welcome with an adult)

Mixed Media Art Journaling

Come join us for a creative and fun-filled day of mixed media art journaling at Vitality Bloom Nursery! Let your imagination run wild as you explore various techniques and materials to create your own unique art journal pages. This in-person event will be held at 19 Lindsays Road, Boambee NSW 2450, Australia. No experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to experiment.

We will do a short Meditation and warm up.

Renate will guide you in:

  • how to start a page
  • explore your marks, colour, supplies
  • getting started and getting over the blank page, using: writing, colour and collage
  • explore Hand writing
  • get over blocks
  • pick a theme
  • adding finishing touches.

We will be using: acrylic paint, collage papers, Gesso, Gel Medium, stencils, stamps, paint pens, watercolour, charcoal, Neocolour II and pencil.

Absolute Beginners welcome, you don't need to be able to draw.

All materials supplied, cuppa included.

Please feel free to bring anything you already have, including brushes and journals.

We will be working on 300gsm watercolour paper that can be added to an existing journal.

Creative fun for everyone (under 9years welcome with an adult).
